create healing
create change
Telehealth and in-person therapy in Denver for adults and adolescents.
I work with clients who are facing major life transitions, struggling in relationships, and want to begin the process of overcoming recent or past trauma.
Life Transitions
Some major life transitions may appear to be mostly positive and exciting: a new job, the birth of a child, getting married, and moving. Others are challenging at face value: breakups and divorce, illness and injury, or the loss of a loved one. In either case, many people struggle to adjust to change. In therapy, you will learn practical tools to self-soothe and regulate your emotions during times of unpredictability and heightened stress.
Relationships
The quality of our relationships with family, friends, significant others, and coworkers greatly impact our quality of life. Therapy can help you identify problematic patterns in relationships and examine their root cause. Most importantly, learning and practicing self-compassion and self-forgiveness is critical to healing our relationships with others. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ clients navigating dynamics within their relationships.
Trauma
Trauma is an experience of having no choice about what happened to you. This is the common denominator in the experiences of survivors of natural disasters, victims of sexual assault, and combat veterans. Trauma can also result from less obvious sources. Being caught in the middle of your parents' bitter divorce, bullying or rejection by peers, and emotional abuse in a relationship can leave deep and lasting scars. Guilt, shame, and a loss of trust are common reactions to a traumatic event and may result in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I employ evidence-based modalities to help traumatized clients get the relief they deserve.
These circumstances often lead to anxiety, depression, and PTSD.
Through counseling, EMDR, and art therapy, I empower my clients to create change and healing in their lives.
